About

It’s been said that if we can survive the war that we battle with ourselves, we can survive anything. Alisa genuinely believes that everyone can benefit from therapeutic intervention as a resource for adjusting to life’s unexpected changes and personal growth. She has a passion for bringing healing to individuals who have experienced trauma or are currently facing daily struggles that seem impossible to overcome. Alisa strives to help her clients find healthy perceptions of themselves and knows that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and aspires to work with clients to find what works best for them. To best provide individualized services to each individual, Alisa uses several different counseling theories including cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, solution focused therapy, EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

Alisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, based in Northwest Arkansas serving adolescent and adult populations. She studied criminal justice and law enforcement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, before completing her Masters degree in Clinical Counseling at Bellevue University in 2015. She is currently a doctoral student at Tiffin University, specializing in criminal justice leadership and forensic psychology. While in college, she spent 5 years in law enforcement before transitioning to pursuing a full time career in counseling. She believes that her experience and education have provided a strong foundation in creating a non-judgmental, comfortable and motivating environment for clients, helping them reach their full potential.

She has had the opportunity to gain experience in many areas of counseling, such as trauma and PTSD, addiction, working with inmate populations including death row, life transitions and stressors, domestic violence, law enforcement and first responders, sexual abuse, legal issues and sex offender forensic evaluation and treatment. Alisa uses Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to treat a variety of presenting issues related to trauma to help clients find peace in healing and ability to move forward in their lives. Alisa is a Certified First Responder Counselor, Certified Force Science Analyst, Certified Clinician with the National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider. She also holds certifications in Nutrition and Mental Health and Integrative Mental Health. Alisa has additional training and certification in technology-assisted counseling which allows her to offer services via Telehealth statewide in Arkansas and Missouri. Alisa serves as the Director of Clinical Services for Heroes Behind the Line, an Arkansas based non-profit organization specializing in crisis intervention and wellness services for first responders.

Alisa and her husband, Spencer, a Marine Corp Veteran and local police officer of 12 years, live in NW Arkansas with their German Shepherd, Meeka and several barn cats on their property. In her free time, Alisa enjoys baking, reading true crime and psychological thrillers, spending time with family and friends and watching LSU baseball and football in season!
